Who am I?

I am Taolun Guo, or as most people just call me Tao for short. I’m 3D artist originating from the patriotic city of Boston. I’m a 2nd generation Chinese-American 90s kid through and through. I was heavily influenced early by Saturday morning cartoons, the wild world of Japanese anime and the fantastical escapism of video games. This extreme obsession led me from being a kid doodling fanart in his room and grinding levels to beat Kingdom Hearts secret bosses, into the field of animation and CG.

My experience heavily lies in my proficiency as a Character and Prop Artist. But my passion and dedication has led me to wear multiple hats as both a 3D artist and game developer. I have assisted in all aspects of the 2D and 3D production pipeline, ranging from high resolution sculpts, game-engine ready low-poly models, environmental layout to animation, illustrative game art and basic rigging. Having worked on experiences ranging from interactive to film pre/post productions to VR and mobile games allows me to easily adapt to multiple optimization scenarios and platforms. However my versatility extends into outsource management as well having been involved in acting as representative liaison with vendors and in-house artists, polishing vendor assets, communicating feedback with documentation, managing deliverables and implementing assets into game engines.

I’ve worked on a wide range of projects, from indie games to large film productions and VR experiences. Recent projects include Marvel: World Heroes, Friday the 13th the Game, Expo Dubai 2020 and the Spider-Man: Far from Home VR experience.
